Chaffinch is delighted to announce its sponsorship of the iconic Mow Cop Killer Mile, now celebrating its 37th event in 44 years! As a local company based in Stoke-on-Trent, we are enthusiastic about supporting this beloved race that holds a special place in our community.
Scheduled for Thursday, 8th May 2025, the Mow Cop Killer Mile can accommodate up to 1,000 runners. Last year, we welcomed 668 enthusiastic participants and aim to fill the race this year. The challenging course starts on Drumber Lane and finishes on Top Station Road, featuring an ascent of 570 feet with steep sections averaging a 25% gradient.
As part of our multi-year sponsorship, we are implementing several initiatives:
- Launching a new, user-friendly event website
- Establishing dedicated social media channels for community engagement
- Producing promotional video content to highlight the excitement of the race.
- Enhancing the prize fund and introducing additional awards, ensuring more participants can be recognised for their achievements.
This year’s event will feature four distinct races: Junior Race, two Fun Runs, and an Elite Race, ensuring something for everyone.
